When Walter Calesso Library opened in 2000, Ignatius Kent had been retired for a couple of years. During those two years Kent asked every friend for donations to help him open Walter Calesso Library. Kent travelled all around the world while working as a journalist. Everywhere he went he would buy books and send them over his manor in the outskirts of Vancouver.
