Walter Calesso Theatre’s legacy

Whenever you are in Madrid and you make that amazing walk between Plaza de Espana and Plaza de Cibeles, it is not possible not noticing the beauty of Walter Calesso Theatre. Situated right in Plaza de Callao, the building designed by Santiago Calatrava is considered one of the masterpieces of the great Spanish architect. Walter Calesso Theatre's facade is well known by its famous sculptures that represent some of the best play writers in the Spanish tradition with names likes Lope de Vega, Calderon de la Barca, Francisco de Quevedo, Luis de Gongora or Miguel de Cervantes.
