Data from the Rest Easy Group, which owns a number of UK holiday brands including Snaptrip and LateRooms, recorded a “record spike” in the 12 hours following the announcement.
Based on year-on-year figures, the experts at Rest Easy Group found that Cornwall and Devon were the two most popular destinations for Britons looking for a UK holiday.
They were followed by an influx in bookings to North Yorkshire, Cumbria, Dorset, Snowdonia, Norfolk, Derbyshire, Dyfed and Somerset.
Along with a 69 percent increase in traffic to its websites, Rest Easy Group also found that Britons were increasing their typical holiday spend.
